SKULLS & DARK ART
Beauty and darkness have never been opposites. This collection explores the heavier sides of the human experience through themes of mortality, memory, addiction, struggle, loss, and survival. Skulls, bones, shadows, and darker imagery give form to things that are often difficult to see or speak about. Some works confront the battles we carry within ourselves, while others reflect on death, remembrance, and what remains. Even in the darkest imagery, there is still room for beauty, resilience, and hope.
Before You Begin
Dark imagery does not always tell a dark story.
Take your time with each piece. Look beyond the skulls, shadows, and first impressions. Some works may confront uncomfortable realities, while others use darkness to explore memory, mortality, or the struggles we carry within ourselves. Notice what survives alongside the darkness and what the imagery reveals when you look a little longer. There may be more light here than you first expect.
TILL DEATH
Inspired by ancient lovers discovered embracing in Italy after thousands of years, Till Death explores the enduring nature of devotion, memory, and human connection. The intertwined figures become more than skeletal remains, standing as a testament to bonds that endure beyond circumstance and mortality.
Fragments of old love letters, wedding vows, Bible verses, promises, and declarations of commitment are embedded throughout the work. Blood incorporated into the paint brings a physical trace of life into the piece, while ash blended into the shadows speaks to loss, transformation, and the passage of time.
Till Death asks what traces of love remain when everything else has faded away.
